World of Warcraft Legion: Whispers of Il'gynoth

Image
“Madness Will Consume You!” I’ve been playing World of Warcraft’s new expansion Legion since its Launch, not nonstop of course. Blizzard unlocked the Emerald Nightmare raid for us, the players this week. So I fought Il'gynoth earlier this week, and his whispers were very fascinating to speculate about. And I wanted to express my thoughts about it. I talked to a friend of mine about possible lore ideas for this character and the things he talked about. Most of them were similar to what was in the video that Nobbel discussed. We concluded that the 5th old could possibly be Azeroth. In C'thulu mythos there is a being called Azathoth. Sounds like Azeroth right? One of Il'gnyoth's whispers is, "Her heart is crater and we have filled it." Some speculate this to be Jaina since Theramore went kaboom. However, what if the crater is the hole where the old gods reside and they now fill Azeroth, are now the planet? Many of the whisper elude to tha

World of Warcraft Pre-Patch Thoughts

"Transmog Rules"             Patch 7.0 is the first patch which leads in to Blizzard Entertainment’s highly anticipated expansion: Legion. This patch brings a lot of changes, such as; garrison nerfs, class skills and design overhauls, transmog wardrobe, item changes when leveling, and of course the pre-patch events. Transmog wardrobe             Now, I play a protection warrior, and I have been since I first started playing the game in The Burning Crusade (about 5 months before Wrath of the Lich King). I’m not too happy in the redesign in this spec since I absolutely loved the design for it in Warlords of Draenor.             The patch brings several things that Blizzard has planned for the pre-launch event. Doomsayers can be found in capital cities and give pamphlets of the incoming doom. My personal favorite feature, is the transmog wardrobe. Doomsayer             The transmog wardrobe is an improved version of the transmog syst

Warcraft Movie Review

Image
So I got to see the Warcraft movie today, I really enjoyed it. However, I’m a fan of the games and know the lore. I brought two friends with me, one who somewhat knows the lore, and one who was only interest because Travis Fimmel was in it.             So first things first, the combat choreography and camera shots were very well done. I’ve seen movies where the camera angles are so shaky in the fight it makes the scene unenjoyable. Second off, the music was very good, in some parts of the movie there were nods of similar themes from areas in the MMO-RPG, which I was the only one who noticed it in the theater, at least among my friends.             The special effects were well-done. I was worried if it was going to be a CGI overdose because of the trailers, but it looks good and not garnish and outlandish that it feels out of place, it feels like I was actually seeing Azeroth. The armor and set pieces were absolutely incredible to see, at the very

Unsung Heroes: Piccolo

Image
Who is your favorite Dragon Ball Z character? Most people answers are Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and maybe Future Trunks. All of those characters are great, but there’s one I feel that is generally forgotten about how much he contributes in Dragon Ball Z. His name is Piccolo.             Piccolo is a Namekian, an alien from the planet Namek. Piccolo, or rather Piccolo Jr. was born as the successor of Demon King Piccolo as an incarnation of the Demon King to exact his revenge on Goku due to being defeated and murdered by Goku. Piccolo Jr. doesn’t meet up with Goku until about three years after the battle where Goku had trained with Kami, Piccolo’s good half. Piccolo is a hero in Dragon Ball Z, but is often forgotten that he started off as a villain.             Of course, you probably know the story, Piccolo Jr. is defeated by Goku at the Grand Martial Arts Tournament, and is spared by Goku. They later team up in the beginning of Dragon Ball Z to defeat Radit

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation Review

Image
“Make your own fate”             Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation, is the final campaign and version of the Fates trilogy. This version is the final game of the epic story that is told in the Fates trilogy. This version of the story is the cannon one and true ending of the trilogy.             Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation brings the factions from Birthright, the Hoshido, and the Conquest Faction Nohr, together in the final version. The interactions between the units of the two factions are fantastic. Having Ryoma, and Xander speak with each other and get a long was amazing. Revelation gives you units from both games, and even extra that are not in the other versions, and vice versa. Even brings the additional maps to get additional experience points from Birthright which add to your game time.             The story, was weak. I’m sad that it is. I enjoyed the story of the other two versions, and was very excited for the conclusion of these two tales. The st

Miitomo: Thoughts on it

Image
“Miyatomo” Nintendo’s new game on smart phone Miitomo is a few things; charming, quirky, creepy, and weird. You can hook up your Mii from your Wii U or 3DS or make your own for this title. The biggest thing about this is the customization. It’s almost exactly like Tomadachi Life a 3DS sim game with Mii’s. I have never played Tomadachi Life, but I know enough about it, that Miitomo is very similar. Like with all Mii stuff, you have to put a nickname for your Mii. Unlike some of other Nintendo’s product, it doesn’t have a word sensor. So I can easily put in profanity despite the purpose of Miitomo to be a social media for Nintendo but in a game setting. Nintendo is generally very good about sticking to their family friendly audience that it’s a bit bizarre that this is an exploit in the product. Now, Nintendo isn’t too known for voice overs in their games. One it costs too much after a while, and two; never forget Star Fox Adventures. However, Miitomo has voice over

Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest Review

Image
“A song of Conquest and Fate”             Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest is truly an amazing game. I played it after finishing Birthright and I loved how both versions compliment the details of the stories of each other very nicely. Some parts of the story in both respective version had details missing that I wanted to know but were never explained. Both versions help explain it, or even hint how things could have been different if the avatar you made ‘chose’ a different path. Now, when I was playing the games I never saw it as a reference to Birthright or Conquest, but to Revelations, which is the true story which combines elements of the two and have all the characters that are a part of your team in respective versions together. I have yet to get a hold of Revelations, but I know the gist of what it is supposed to be, and I am excited to get a hold of it, hopefully in a few weeks and post my review of it. I loved the differences in both stories, and I honestly found the Con

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright Review

Image
“A song of Birthright and love”             Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright plays just like Fire Emblem Awakening and that is not a bad thing. I adored Awakening as a long time Fire Emblem fan, I even will go as far as to say that it was my favorite entry in the series, until Fire Emblem Fates came along.             Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright isn’t a complete copy and paste of Awakening; it’s actually quite different in many ways. Birthright introduces new weapons into the series and it’s cool that there’s more types of weapons in the series. The Hoshido, your family from birth, are more feudal Japan-like. Because of this, you get more feudal Japan weapons like: clubs instead of axes, katanas instead of swords, yumis instead of bows, festals instead of staves, shurikens instead of the Nohr counterpart of knives and naginatas instead of lances and more. The variety of weapons and customization was a neat change from the more European style in the other entries in t
